Before selling jewelry in Miami
Organize your pieces, supporting documents and questions for an in-store evaluation.
Start readingMake an inventory
Separate the pieces you want to discuss and note any known metal markings, stones, brands and repairs. Say when a detail is unknown. A stamp or appearance alone should not be treated as a complete identification. Do not clean aggressively or alter the piece before asking for advice.
Bring useful supporting information
Available receipts, grading reports, boxes or prior descriptions can give context. Keep personal information private. Photographs are helpful for an initial question, but they do not replace examination of the item and do not establish an offer.
Discuss the actual proposal
Ask how the store has described your item and what the proposed transaction includes. Confirm the amount and any requirements before accepting. Vice City Pawn’s published services include buying jewelry and diamonds; call ahead if your item needs a specific type of assessment.
A little more prepared.
Before your next conversation, check that you’ve considered each point.
