Keep the values clear
Ask how your item is being evaluated, what the other item costs and whether there is a balance to pay. Make sure you understand what accessories are included on both sides. Avoid treating an early estimate as final approval.
Agree before proceeding
Review the final arrangement, applicable policies and handover details with the store. If you need time to decide, ask about any reservation terms rather than assuming a piece will be held. Keep the transaction documentation after the exchange.
